PlayStation Motion Controller Only Uses 2MB of RAM to Handle Your Moves
Ending the rampart speculation, this week, as you probably know already, Sony have officially unveiled Playstation Move, their first motion controller. And while we think it’s a crime not having full-four player support, we’re hearing that the PS3 Move controller will work like a charm and won’t break the gaming performance as handling your crazy moves will only require an “insignificant” 1-2 MB of RAM from the system’s 256MB memory.

Just like the Wii, Sony’s new PlayStation Move is a motion controller that detects your movements (precisely within real 3D space) and translates them into gameplay. On top of that, Move is also capable to detect faces, which means that it can identify individuals through face contour and feature detection, recognize gender, age, smiles, when your eyes open or close.
But will so much technology and software affect your game experience?
Not according to Sony’s David Coombes who’s saying that the PS3 can process raw data incredibly quickly, taking “under a frame” of the Cell CPU’s processing time to translate to a game experience.
Now that’s refreshing, all we need to do is wait till fall to get our hands on one.
