Lumigon Brings Us Stylish Android Phones From Denmark

"Uniquely Scandinavian" Mobile Phones Offer Hip Design, Android 2.1, Freescale Processor, HD Video, FM Radio

Lumigon, a Danish electronics company, showed off some new phones that they saw are “uniquely Scandinavian”. That might be a slight insult intended towards Nokia, but at any rate, the phones that Lumigon showed off were pretty sharp looking and where running Android.

Lumigon will be adding three new phones, the T1, the S1 and the E1. All phones will reportedly be offering a LCD touchscreen, a Freescale processor, GPS, 720p video, HDMI-out as well as an FM receiver. They’re be running the latest Android 2.1 and will be running Lumigon’s own UI on top of that.

While all three phones will have the same touchscreen, each will be slightly different in terms of the different models. The T1 will simply just have the touchscreen while the S1 will offer a sliding T9 keypad for quick dialing. Despite the extra keypad – Lumigon was quick to point out that both phones will offer the same core features.

The Lumigon E1 will come out a bit later after the others and it’s something of a mystery. They promise that the E1 will have “a unique navigation system and a shape never experienced in mobile phones,” with Lumgion founder Lars Gravesen saying, “E1 is the most beautiful phone I have ever seen during my entire 10 year career in mobile business.

Unfortunately for us, they haven’t given any further information or pictures of what this mystery E1 phone will look like. For those interested, Lumigon will first be launching the phones in Scandinavia then expanding to other select European markets after that. The chances of it coming to North America are probably pretty slim.

The Lumigon T1 (touchscreen only) will appear in shops in early Q2 2010 while the Lumigon S1 (with T9 keypad) will be out in late Q2 2010. The mysterious Lumigon E1 will be out later in the year.
