BlackBerry 9650 Bold /Tour2 / Essex Gets Leaked & BlackBerry Slider Handset Makes an Appearance
If there’s one cell phone manufacturer out there currently keeping a very low profile, besides Palm for that matter, that’s RIM. We have plenty of rumors regarding upcoming BlackBerry smartphones for 2010 but no official press release to back everything up. So while we wait for the Canadian-based company to finally reveal details about its upcoming handsets all we can do is continue to look at rumor and leaks for you.

We’ll start everything off with the BlackBerry 9650 Bold / Tour2 / Essex. As you can see we have no idea what the name of this particular phone will be but we do now that its user manual has been leaked all over the web. It turns out that the BlackBerry 9650 will offer us a HVGA display, new optical touchpad, 3.2-megapixel camera, 256MB of memory, GPS and Wi-Fi. As you can see the Tour2, that seems the better name for it, is just a Tour that got Wi-Fi support, BlackBerry OS 5.0 and an optical trackpad. The device is expected to hit stores in May, and just like the original Tour before it the Tour2 will be sold by both Verizon and Sprint.

Moving on to a more popular rumor we’ll find the BlackBerry slider smartphone caught on camera again. We have covered it extensively already and we’re more and more convinced that RIM is going to announce its first hybrid touchscreen / QWERTY keyboard smartphone at some point later this year.

The sliders is expected to be a mixture of RIM’s already popular Bold and Storm lines and it’s said to come with Wi-Fi n support, 3.2- or 5-megapixel camera with liquid lens, touchscreen without SurePress support, GSM and CDMA support and a full Bold-like QWERTY keyboard.
We have no news regarding release dates at this point but we’re definitely interested to see this particular model hit stores. Would you be interested more in the BlackBerry 9650 or in the nameless BlackBerry slider?
