Verizon Nexus One Will Feature Sense UI Over Google Experience

Leaked Internal Verizon Documents Confirms Sense UI, Android Fans Revolt

As we reported, it’s a bit of an open secret that Google’s flagship Nexus One phone will be coming to Verizon and Vodafone – but while the first Nexus One from T-Mobile came with the “stock” Android UI, a leaked Verizon internal document confirms that the Verizon edition of the phone will come with HTC’s Sense UI. Internet reaction has been mixed.

A Verizon employee snapped a picture of a Verizon intranet site that lists the Sense UI as coming on the Nexus One. Because the Android OS is customizable, we’ve seen a few phone manufacturers like HTC, Samsung and Motorola add their own UI wrapper on top of the OS to add a distinct differentiation to their phones. The Nexus One from T-Mobile, while it was made by HTC, passed on including the Sense UI in favor of ‘stock’ Android.

The internet reaction to the news as been mixed, as you might imagine. Some people dislike the stock Google Experience UI and are pleased to see the Sense UI included. Some sites have reported that phones with the Sense UI are slower to get OTA updates because HTC has to incorporate the update with their UI layer. Some are questioning the accuracy of this leak considering Google has said they want the Nexus One to be the ‘purest’ Android phone out there, in terms of modifications and fragmentation.

It’s possible that this is a typo, or possibly some preset that automatically is added to every HTC phone on Verizon’s intranet site. Taking it at face value, how do you feel about the Sense UI being included on the Verizon Nexus One?
