iPad Pre-orders Begin Friday at 8:30 AM [iPad Confirmed for Pre-ordering on Apple Store Early in the Morning]

One of the advantages of staying up late in Europe is that you get the scoop when it comes to lazy announcements coming from the US. A good example, we just caught wind that the iPad pre-orders will start as expected on the Apple Store this Friday, at around 8:30 in the morning for those on the East Coast.

While we knew March 12 is the set date for the first pre-orders on the iPad, we just got confirmation when the pre-oder page will be up and running. That means you won’t have to stay up all night pressing the F5 button as a company spokesman has just told TUAW that “customers can pre-order online at apple.com at 5:30am Pacific time on Friday, March 12.” And yes if you were wondering, that’s the Wi-Fi version, only.

Now go set your clocks folks and let the battle begin.

Meanwhile consider that you’ll be getting your Wi-Fi enabled iPad in another three weeks or so, while the 3G versions and international orders won’t be at your doorstep any sooner than late April.
