New Apple Mac Pro Release Set for Next Week?
At the risk of stepping on Chris’s toes here (Apple news is very much Chris’s forte) it seems that rumours concerning the imminent release of a new Apple Mac Pro have been further fuelled with an unnamed source stating that a new Mac Pro, featuring a 6 core Intel Core i7-980x Extreme CPU, is set to be officially unveiled next Tuesday.

The new Core i7-980x touting Mac Pro, which will purportedly be launched on Tuesday 16th of this month (you may want to make a note in your diaries), apart from boasting a 6 core CPU with 12 threads, is said to offer a clock speed of 3.33GHz which, courtesy of TurboBoost, can be ramped up to 3.6GHz but further details are decidedly scant – and, besides, before you get too excited, we should stress that this is just a rumour and that it’s not been substantiated in any way as at the time of writing.
Still, if this rumour transpires to ring true it would represent a pretty spectacular upgrade to the Mac Pro range – and its not as if an update isn’t due any time now.
Of course our ears are firmly glued to the ground on this so the moment we can bring you any news that serves to substantiate this rumour, or totally blow it out of the water, you can rest assured that we’ll be coming back at you asap.
