Palm webOS PDK Now Available in Public Beta

Palm webOS Plug-in Development Kit Beta Ready for Developers; We Want More webOS Games

Palm has officially announced that its webOS PDK is now available in beta version. What does PDK mean? Well it stands for Plug-in Development Kit and developers interested in the webOS environment will have a new toy to play with.

The webOS PDK is now available for developers at the Palm Developer Center and if you happen to be present at the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco then Palm will surely show you some of the new games available for webOS phones which were developed using the new webOS PDK.

The PDK is the complement the Palm webOS SDK needs in order to allow devs to also include C and C++ in their future apps and add 3D graphics for upcoming games heading to the webOS platform.

Katie Mitic, senior vice president of Product Marketing at Palm said this about the PDK beta:

Palm webOS is the go-to platform for great games on two of the three leading carrier networks. We have both the developer tools and the hardware necessary for a world-class gaming experience, and an impressive portfolio of webOS game titles from top-notch developers to show for it.
