MSI Wind12 U230 Netbook Finally Released

New Netbook From MSI Features AMD Neo Processor, 2GB RAM, 250GB HDD, HDMI Port, Win7

Although MSI doesn’t have any shortage of netbook offerings, we were starting to get a bit worried about the company’s missing Wind12 U230 netbook which was announced back in November and never released. Why get worried over a netbook? The Wind12 U230 is going to have a touch more powerful processor and a slightly bigger screen that the usual netbook fare.

The Wind12 U230 is shipping with either your choice of the AMD Neo MV-40 processor (AMD’s equivalent of Intel’s Atom processor) or a more powerful AMD Athlon X2 L335 processor. As mentioned, the screen is a touch bigger than the regular netbook as it measures in at 12.1-inches, and will have a max resolution of 1366×768. It will come with 2GB of DDR2 RAM and Windows 7 Home Premium.

Graphics are being powered by an ATI Radeon HD 3200 graphics card. For hard storage, it’ll come with either a 250GB or 320GB hard drive. It will feature HDMI-out. The increased screensize has another benefit to it, it features a larger keyboard which MSI is calling “EDS-style”. The tiny keyboards on netbooks can be troublesome, so it’s nice to see it have a larger one.

As you can imagine, it’s a bit more expensive than the usual netbook with an MSRP of $429. It appears to be a solid netbook that’s venturing into the ultra-portable notebook market, but that low price is decent.

If interested, the MSI Wind12 U230 netbook is now shipping from Newegg.com
