Video: HP Showcase Flash & Air on HP Slate [HP Hit Apple iPad Where it Hurts, HP Slate Offers Access to the ‘Full Web’ – Unlike Apple’s iPad]

Apple may have just released their first ever commercial for their iPad tablet but we have to say it left us a little cold, not least because we, like most of you, are all too aware of the shortcomings of the iPad – one of those specifically being lack of Adobe Flash and Air support. So, who could blame HP for making a bit of a song and a dance concerning the fact that their rival tablet, the HP Slate, offers support for both – thus allowing ‘access to the full web, and not just a part of it’.

We have to hand it to HP for, as you’ll note in the video below, though the iPad isn’t specifically named it’s clear that HP have the iPad’s lack of Flash support firmly in their sights. And understandably so as many, including me, would wholly agree with HP in stating that without Flash support you’re cutting out so much of the web in terms of features that browsing the net without Flash will not (and can never) offer a full web experience – as HP states, 85% of the Alexa top 100 websites employ Flash in one form or another and 75% of online video is Flash based.

If you’re interested in eventually forking out for a tablet (or slate) and you’re torn between Apple’s iPad and the HP Slate we suspect that the video below will win many of you over – or at least many more than Apple’s just released iPad commercial will.

So, what do you think, assuming you’ve watched both the iPad commercial and HP’s video presentation concerning the HP Slate above – are you still drawn to the iPad, or is HP winning you over?
