LG X300 Netbook Release Confirmed for This Month

LG have confirmed that their flagship super slim notebook, or ‘ultra-thin premium mobile PC’ as they prefer to call it, namely the snazzy, Intel Melow touting LG X300, is set to hit retail this month at which point it’ll go head to head with Dell’s long since available Adamo.

The premium LG X300, which boasts a thickness (or is that slimness?) of a mere 17.5mm and which runs Windows 7, packs a 11.6” LCD display paired with a chiclet keyboard whilst, under the hood you’re looking at a 2.0 GHz Intel Menlow platform, 2GB of system memory, a 128GB SSD, a 1.3 megapixel webcam with ‘You-Cam’ viewer, an integrated 3G modem and SRS TruSurround HD sound.

“Given how demanding and discerning consumers are nowadays, we were delighted to receive such acclaim from the public and media at the CES for our new mobile PC,” said Dr. Skott Ahn, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “It’s a vindication of LG’s efforts to maintain the very highest standards in design without any sacrifices in high-tech or functionality, and ensure our consumers’ experiences with LG PCs just keep getting better.”

LG haven’t offered a specific date concerning the X300’s availability but have confirmed that the X300 will be available first in Asia from this month with Middle East and South America rollouts following thereafter. There’s no confirmation as yet to a US or European release date and, if you’re looking for just how much this baby will set you back, you’re looking at somewhere in the region of $1,500.
