Dell Adamo XPS May Be Discontinued
Just three month after becoming available on the market, word is that the stylish Dell Adamo XPS notebook may be discontinued as it’s actually missing from the shelves. Well, today the company provided an official explanation saying that the high-end Adamo XPSÂ is a device “similar to a limited edition” mode and that it was meant as an “engineering marvel” to prove that Dell can, if they want, build an ultraportable that will get people wow.

“The Adamo XPS is an engineering marvel and a decisive proof point to Dell’s design and engineer capabilities. As such it is similar to a limited edition product, and most of the supply has been accounted for,” the company said in an official statement to TechRadar, today.
While in the UK the Dell Adamo XPS should be available through select John Lewis stores and on johnlewis.com, in the US the company assured the stylish piece of machinery will be available in select BestBuy stores for some $2,000 — which is higher than the originally announced $1,800.
Not sure about you guys, but reading behind the lines, I’m pretty sure sooner or later Dell will take the Adamo XPS off their list. Could it be because unlike the MacBook Air, the Adamo XPS is probably accounting for a loss rather than making money for the company?
For those out of the know, the Dell Adamo XPS is just over 3 lbs heavy and measures 9.99mm thin, features a 13.4-inch high-definition WXGA LED backlit 720p display, has 4GB of DDR3 RAM, either a 1.4GHz or the 1.9GHz Intel dual-core ULV processor and integrated X4500MHD graphics, along with either a 128GB or 180GB SSD. It runs Windows 7 and comes with Wi-Fi connectivity.
We’ll sure miss you Adamo XPS!
