Asus Eee PC 1005PR Netbook Gets Official [Eee PC 1005PR Pack a HD Display, Up to 11 Hours Battery Life & 750GB Storage]

Asus have taken the wraps off their latest Eee PC netbook, namely the Asus Eee PC 1005PR, which is based on the Eee PC 100PE, but comes with a 10.1” widescreen WXGA HD LED backlit display making it ideal for watching movies and engaging in other multimedia content.

The Asus Eee PC 1005PR netbook, which runs Windows 7 Starter Edition, packs a Intel Atom Pineview-M N450 CPU, 1GB RAM (expandable to a maximum of 2GB) whilst, in terms of storage, the Eee PC 1005PR’s 250GB hard drive’s capacity is supplemented with an additional 500GB of Asus WebStorage which will be placed at your disposal for free for a year.

The Asus Eee PC 1005PR’s 1366 x 768 HD display will happily play ball with 720p content thanks to the integration of a Broadcom BCM 70015 HD decoder but, alas, there’s no evidence of HDMI (there is a VGA connector, however, (not comparable I know, put it’s the only display output on offer here) as well as 3 USB 2.0 ports and 1 LAN RJ-45). You can also factor in the all too obligatory webcam as well as headphone and Mic-in and a built-in card reader supporting MMC and SD/SDHC memory cards.

In terms of wireless connectivity, both WiFi (802.11b/g/n) and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR are duly represented.
