Idea Label (a company from Japan) has designed a portable ball-shaped mp3 player with an FM Stereo and alarm called ‘Music Planet’. This floating mini boom box is perfect for the pool or tub as it bobs along the water like some enjoyable toy. Sized at 165x160x165mm Music Planet, is very portable, making it easy to enjoy at home in the tub or at your neighbors pool party.

This cute little device is also IPX7- certified, which means it’s waterproof and immerseable in water up to a depth of 1m for up to 30 minutes. Music Planet has stereo sound with two round waterproof speakers, one on each side. It also has an LCD time display on the top, so you don’t forget what time it is, along with little nubs for gripping.

You can play mp3′s on Music Planet from an SD/SDHC card (supports up to 32GB) and upload songs to your card via USB port. The SD card slot has a protective waterproof cover to keep your card safe and free from harm. When your tired of your playlist an FM radio tuner is also available.

Music Planet is powered by six AA batteries that can last 9 hours when uploading music to your card via USB, 13 hours playing from memory card and 28 hours on the FM Stereo setting. Think this little gizmo would make a great addition to your pool? Well you’re right, but It is also well adapted for a nice soak in the tub.

Music Planet is already available on Idea Label’s Japanese website for $120. If you live somewhere other than Japan you will have to try either Japan Trend Shop, Geek Stuff 4 U or Rinkya. This mini portable waterproof music device may be a little hard to come by, but it is likely that not many other people you know will have one. Plus, it makes a great conversation piece and eye catcher when out in your backyard floating in the pool with you and your friends.
