HTC Confirm HTC Desire (HTC Bravo) to Gain DivX Support
The HTC Desire (HTC Bravo) may not have hit retail quite yet but, as if the Desire isn’t already a phenomenally desirable handset (excuse the lame pun), its just become all the more so thanks to HTC reportedly confirming that the HTC Desire will gain a post release update bringing DivX support to the handset.

The update, which will be released after the HTC Desire hits the streets – on account of HTC purportedly being not having the time to chisel the feature in prior to the Desire being launched – could also be joined in the same post release update by 720p HD encoding capabilities but, whilst HTC have acted to confirm DivX support is on the cards, they have not specifically confirmed the latter (though MobileTechWorld, duly credited below, are certainly under the impression that 720p HD encoding will indeed be offered in the same update).
Of course this could, and undoubtedly will (be it officially of unofficially), see the same features being made available for other comparable Android handsets, such as the Nexus One, whilst serving to further distinguish the Google platform from other platforms such as Apple’s (who, with the new iteration of the iPhone, seriously need to up their game if they don’t want to be left behind).
