Gigabyte Reveals T100P Multi-Touch Convertible Tablet [Gigabyte's T100P Multi-touch Convertable Netbook Features 10-inch Swivel Display, Atom Processor, 250GB HDD]
Gigabyte has a new multi-touch capable netbook on display at their booth at CeBIT in Germany. On the surface, it’s a typical Atom-powered netbook computer, but the real treat is that it’s got an multi-touch screen and converts to a tablet. The device could be an iPad competitor as it’s running a full operating system.

Gigabyte has included an Intel Atom N450 processor that clocks in at 1.66GHz. No ION or Broadcom HD chip, graphics are solely provided by the GMA 3150 controller. For RAM it has 2GB of DDR2 and features a 250GB hard drive.
As mentioned, the specs are nothing to get excited about, but it does include a 10.1-inch matte multi-touch screen that runs at WXGA 1366×768. It’s a multi-touch screen too, and Gigabyte mentions its HD ready (not that you should try it with that Atom processor, but I digress).
Like convertible notebooks do, the display swivels around and bends back to hide the keyboard so it can be used like a traditional tablet PC. Fudzilla, the website who saw the notebook in person and provided the pictures, made the comparison to the iPad. This netbook-tablet obviously features a full OS but probably won’t have the elegance of the iPhone OS.
Gigabyte will be selling it at $599, which is a touch more than the iPad, as well. No word on a release date, with Fudzilla reporting that Gigabyte is “looking to make it available as soon as possible.”
