Why does it take so long to produce? Revealed in Mar, and it's now more than halfway thru June, and still not a peep from the Joos (or is the Orange?) folks, despite signing up for an email update over a month ago. 3 months after intro-is that an industry norm?...makes me wonder if there aren't some significant bugs they're trying to work out..
I am as hopeful as anyone, though - makes no sense to me why every streetlight, laptop, camera, radio, cellphone, videogame, and most other electronics aren't solar-powered by now...

I believe that these types of devices are only the start of something great. At least it is enough to charge all our mobile gadgets (which we seam to have more of every year.) In the future devices like these will no doubt become better and more efficient so they can run individual home appliances perhaps.

@tommy T,
Hey Tommy, thanks for your comment! If you're like me, the combined electricity use of a HTC Hero (g1), Nintendo DS, GPS and Nikon D60 likely adds up to over $100 a year in electricity costs. I suggest only that a gadget like these could pay for itself, and to me, $100 is a pretty significant portion of my electric bill. Halve that, and it's still pretty staggering.
