ASUS RT-N56U Wi-Fi Router Gets The Designer Treatment

New ASUS Router Puts Focus On Svelte, Sexy Design

ASUS has outed a new router with one of the most progressively designed form factors we’ve seen yet.  The ASUS RT-N56U Wi-Fi Router is a sexy entrant into the router space, a home network manager that may be as powerful as it is pretty.

The new ASUS RT-N56U Wi-Fi Router may be a little hush on the hardware details, but some specs did hit with that pretty picture above.  The RT-N65U will support dual band performance, capable of running either 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands for your home’s computers, printers, scanners and otherwise.  The speed of the new ASUS router was also teased, suggesting that it will operate with 300,000 concurrent sessions available.

This writer isn’t so much interested in the ins-and-outs of the hardware, however, and more so about the design itself.  This thin, dark rippled plane looks like something more relevant to science fiction that a piece of gear that collects dust on your desk.  It looks almost monolithic, like it will rise out of the sand and apes will fight over it with bones.  It won’t rise yet, however, as pricing and shipping details have yet to hit the news wire.
