Sony Dash Now Available to Pre-Order from SonyStyle

Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer with Netflix, Slacker & YouTube Support To Hit Retail 15th April

We’ve featured the Sony Dash Personal Internet Viewer here on TFTS a couple of times and now, by way of a heads up for you looking to get your hands on the somewhat more mature Chumby, we can advise that the Sony Dash has just been made available for pre-ordered via Sony’s SonyStyle online portal.

The widget enabled Sony Dash, which, incidentally, offers full compatibility with Chumby widgets (meaning there’s already over 1,500 apps available), comes with a 7” WVGA (800 x 480) LCD touchscreen display, offers wireless connectivity (meaning it can be relocated in your home whilst in range of your WiFi home network – though the fact that the Dash runs on mains power only – there’s no internal battery – means its not truly a portable MID device) and, thanks to the wide range of apps already available not only does the Sony Dash offer support of online services such as Netflix, Slacker internet radio and YouTube but also the likes of Titter, Facebook are represented – and, of course, you can also access your mail too via the Dash using services such as GMail.

Aside from this, the Sony Dash will also serve as a digiframe a clock, with alarm functionality and it’ll happily play ball with a host of audio and video file formats.

The Sony Dash, which will commence shipping as of April 15th, can be pre-ordered now via SonyStyle for just shy of $200.
