iPad Production On Track as Scheduled? [Unofficial Sources Say There Will be Enough iPads in March; 600,000 to 700,000 iPad Units Expected to Ship This Month]
What better way to drive up sales of an already over-hyped device like the iPad than to tell people there won’t be enough iPads to go around at launch? We’re not saying that what we’ve heard a few days ago about the iPhone was just a marketing strategy to drive up iPad sales this month but today we’re hearing that suppliers will be able to make far more than 300,000 iPads in March.

In fact it’s expected that anywhere between 600,000 to 700,000 iPad units will be ready to ship in March alone with one more million units ready in April.
In case you forgot, although it’s really not possible with all the iPad- and tablet-related talk currently happening everywhere on the Internets, the Wi-Fi iPad is going to be sold in the U.S. and other international markets this month with the 3G iPad coming in stores only by the end of April.
While unofficial sources did say that suppliers will be able to make plenty of iPads for March, neither Foxconn Electronics nor Apple commented on the matter. But it looks like the March release is still on track and the Wi-Fi iPad models will not be postponed to April.
In related news we hear that iPad sales will commence on March 26 which seems pretty consistent with Steve Jobs’ keynote held back in January. It also looks like Apple employees will start training on the the iPad this month and Cupertino will start promoting the iPad on TV. New iPad commercials are expected to start airing on March 15 and we’ll bring them to you as soon as they hit the web.
These internal Apple plans, if proven correct, also suggest that the iPad launch is going according to schedule so maybe you won’t have to wait in line for an Apple tablet after all.
