Panasonic Toughbook C1 is World’s Lightest Convertible Tablet [12.1" Toughbook C1 Convertible Rugged PC to Run Core i5 CPU, Withstands 30" Falls & Features Spill-resistant Keyboard]
Panasonic have updated their rugged PC collection with what they call the world’s lightest convertible tablet. Dubbed Panasonic Toughbook C1, the 12.1-inch machine not only looks cool, it’s also capable to withstand a drop from 30-inches as it comes with a magnesium alloy case that is supposedly resistant to 225 pounds of pressure, and features a spill-resistant keyboard.

The business rugged laptop only weighs 3.2 pounds with one battery (or 3.7 pounds with two batteries), runs Windows 7 (which you can downgrade to XP) and ships with an optional Gobi2000 mobile broadband.
Under the hood there’s a 2.4GHz Core i5-520M vPro CPU, a shock-mounted 320GB hard drive and a 12.1-inch WXGA with LED backlighting with multitouch and a digitizer.
On top of that, this slim Panasonic Toughbook C1 has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, an optional fingerprint reader and SmartCard readers — all these for a start price of $2,499.
While we do agree the Toughbook C1 may not be as durable as other Panasonic models in the range, for some reason the C1 got to our hearts.
