Intel Atom N455 & N475 Processors Availability Confirmed

Atom N455 & N475 CPUs to Bring DDR3 Support, Debut Expected at CeBIT 2010?

After taking the wraps off the new Atom N470 chipsets, folks from Intel have quietly readied the Intel Atom N455 and the N475 processors, too. Already launched in netbooks in the last few days, the new CPUs are based on the 1.66GHz N450 and the 1.82GHz N470 that the company has announced a long while ago, but come with DDR3 RAM memory support — which is amazing, considering that ultraportables these days need to deliver more power in order to get more market share.

While there’s nothing official on the Intel website, the company is well known for working behind the scene to release new models on the market ahead of an official debut. And among those to pack the new Atom N455 and N475 processors, is the recently spotted ASUS Eee PC 1018P Prime netbook that not only offers you the needed power but also helps consume less energy as it has a battery good for some 10hrs.

No word when the N455/N475 netbooks will hit the market, but early rumors think they’ll be in shops in the third quarter of 2010.
