First Windows Phone 7 Series Smartphone Unveiled; It Comes from LG [LG Windows Phone 7 Handset Features Full QWERTY Keyboard, Touchscreen & More]

Just earlier this week we told you how LG was apparently ready to launch its first Windows Phone 7 series at some point in September. And today we have for you the very first Windows Phone 7 device ever. Guess who makes it? Well it’s LG of course and we’re anxious to find out more about it soon.

As you can see from the pictures here the unnamed LG device capable to run Windows Phone 7 comes with a full touchscreen display and a slide-out full QWERTY keyboard. Are we looking at a chassis 2 WinMo 7 handset? Earlier this week we found out that Microsoft will support three chassis for its latest Windows Phone 7 mobile platform. One of them includes slide-out keyboard and touchscreen support and this LG phone seems to employ exactly that particular chassis.

The device has been unveiled by Aaron Woodman, the director of consumer experiences for Microsoft’s mobile division during the Engadget Show. The LG handset will apparently sport a 5-megapixel camera and will offer six hardware buttons. The device is a little thicker than the iPhone or the Google Nexus One and it might come with Mac OS support, unless, of course, it doesn’t.

That’s about all we have about this device so far but we’ll be pretty interested to see how the prototype will evolve. There’s no indication that this will indeed be LG’s or the world’s first Windows Phone 7 handset announced this year but it’s a start and we’re looking forward to see more similar smartphones emerge in the following months.

Now that LG has shown off its first Windows Phone 7 device we’re looking at HTC, Samsung and Motorola. We expect them all to unveil their own WinMo 7 handsets in the near future and we’ll be here lurking in the shadows waiting for other Windows Phone 7 handsets to be revealed.
