iPhone 4G to be Cheaper Than Its Predecessors?
So the MWC 2010 has brought us Microsoft’s Windows Phone 7 Series and the bada OS from Samsung. Oh yes, Nokia has also announced its Symbian^3 and Symbian^4 intentions but the question here is how will Apple respond to all these changes and what will the iPhone 4G surprise us with?

The next-gen iPhone is the key factor in the smartphone world as we know it. Whatever Apple comes up with next, the competition is likely to imitate or try to improve, so, whether you love or hate the iPhone, you should be interested in what the 4G version will have to offer. And just to make things clear, the 4G stands for fourth generation here and not for 4G connectivity such as LTE. Maybe we’ll talk about an iPhone LTE next year!
So it looks like Apple is going to offer you a cheaper iPhone this June. So say analysts who expect the iPhone 4G to have a lower cost of ownership. Which in turn could mean that the iPhone 4G will become even cheaper in stores and more people will be able to adopt it.
Because it seems that the price has been the main reason not to buy an iPhone for lots of customers. And I am referring to the subsidized prices which were too high for some people.

Katy Huberty from Morgan Stanley wrote about the new iPhone:
We expect Apple to launch new iPhones in June that offer both a lower total cost of ownership and new functionality, potentially including gesture-based technology.
Naturally that doesn’t mean that analysts can predict the future and Apple can choose to handle its business as it sees fit. But we will definitely see a cheaper iPhone this June. While the iPhone 4G might not be as cheap as analysts suggest, the price of the iPhone 3GS will surely go down just as the price of the iPhone 3G did last year when the 3GS model was unveiled.
And don’t think I chose to ignore that “gesture-based technology” bit from the quote above. But so far it’s just a rumor which I’ll place right on top of all the other iPhone 4G-related rumors we’ve heard so far this year.
How much would you pay for the iPhone 4G?
