Google Nexus One Coming to Verizon on March 23; Mozilla Fennec Also on Board? [Google & Verizon to Launch Nexus One on March 23; Fennec Mobile Browser Spotted on Motorola Droid & Nexus One Already]
Just yesterday we told you how the FCC has cleared a CDMA Google Nexus One version and today it looks like we already have a Verizon launch date. Furthermore newfound evidence suggests that both Nexus One and Motorola Droid owners are going to be able to browse the Internet using Mozilla’s Fennec mobile browser.

March 23 is the rumored launch date for Verizon’s Google Nexus One. We have no confirmation at this point but it looks like Big Red seems really interested in selling the smartphone as soon as possible. Verizon’s Nexus One should be pretty similar in specs to T-Mobile’s version, the only obvious difference being the CDMA and EV-DO support.
It will be interesting to see if the handset will come with the same 3G issues on Verizon territory and we’ll be curious to see how many smartphones will Google sell this time around.
Another interesting thing to watch will be Verizon’s advanced gadgets ETF and Google’s Equipment Recovery Fee. Will this first CDMA Nexus One phone require its owners to agree to both these strange ETFs? Because these fees combined do not sound that good whatsoever!
And just in case you’re thinking about getting a Google Nexus One or a Motorola Droid, we happen to have some good news for you. It looks like Mozilla’s mobile browser for Android, the Fennec, has been spotted in the wild running on the Nexus One and the Droid. That means the Fennec might be arriving soon although neither Mozilla nor Google mentioned any official release dates for Fennec for Android.
The browser should be available to Android users later this year and we’re really excited to find out more details about it from Mozilla. Fennec is the mobile equivalent of your beloved Firefox browser which means the same Internet browsing experience will be coming to various smartphone platforms out there in the near future.
