General Mobile Shows Off Three Android Phones [New Android Phones At MWC, 4.3-Inch Touchscreen, Marvell Processor, Android 2.0]
Smartphone maker General Mobile had three new Android smartphones on display at Mobile World Congress earlier this month. In addition to the Cosmos (which we’ve already seen), they showed off a Cosmos 2 device as well as a new device – dubbed the Touch Stone – that looks to be a new player in the high-end Android smartphone race.

The General Mobile Cosmos, as we’ve already seen, will have a Marvell PXA935 processor that will run at 624MHz. it will feature 256MB of Flash memory and 128MB of RAM, along with a 3.2-inch display. It will be running Android 2.0 and everybody is describing it as a entry-level smartphone offering.
General Mobile didn’t provide specs of the Cosmos 2 at MWC, but from the pictures we’ve seen, it’s gotten an appearance makeover from the Cosmos 1. It could either be another entry-level device like the Cosmos 1, or perhaps a mid-range priced device so General Mobile will have three differently priced offerings.
At the high need is the GM Touch Stone. It’s got a sharp look and a (relatively) huge 4.3-inch screen. Unfortunately, we don’t know much about what’s in the Touch Stone, either, other than that GM says it’s going to be a high-end device (think HTC killer). Some blogs reported it as having the same Marvell PXA935 processor as the Cosmos, which is probably unlikely. We’d like to see it with at least a 1GHz processor to be taken seriously.
No word on pricing or release dates for these phones. They’ll all be running Android 2.0+, and they’ll also have their own app store called StoreOid.
