Samsung Debuts 3D Active Shutter Glasses

Samsung SSG-2100AB 3D LED TV Glasses Priced at $150

If this year you’re ready to buy a Samsung 3D TV to adorn your living room, then you should be on the look out for some 3D glasses, as the new 55-inch 3D LED HDTVs that have already started to sell on Amazon for some $3,300, still count on active technology. But it looks like we’re in luck, as we’re hearing that the company have officially priced their active 3D glasses meaning that starting today we now have an option.

Found at retailer Vann’s, the new Samsung SSG-2100AB 3D LED TV glasses cost a whopping $150. The Active Shutter glasses come with liquid crystal lenses that go from dark to light several hundreds of times per second while communicating wirelessly with the television set.

The biggest drawbacks, other than costing some $300 for you and your loved one, the new Samsung glasses can’t be scaled down to be used by kids (no Avatar with the kids for you) and they can’t be recharged (feature CR2025 batteries instead) which is why they may affect brightness and contrast calibration.

For some reason 3D TVs don’t sound like so much fun anymore! Right?
