ASUS Eee PC 1005PE-H Netbook Secretly Added [New Netbook Offers Atom Processor, 2GB RAM, 10-inch Display]
ASUS quietly added a new netbook to their lineup recently. The Eee PC 1005PE-H is a minimal upgrade over the existing Eee PC 1005PE that we first saw last year, which was one of the first ASUS netbooks to feature an Atom Pine Trail processor. For 2010, ASUS is adding more RAM and hard drive space.

For comparison, the original Eee PC 1005PE had a Atom N450 processor, with 1GB of RAM, a 250GB hard drive and came with Windows 7 Starter Edition, along with the de facto standard netbook 10.1-inch screen. The Eee PC 1005PE-H is getting a modest upgrade to 2GB of RAM, which should really help the netbook’s performance.
Also, the new iteration of the Eee PC netbook will also be coming with a 320GB hard drive, vs. the 250GB of the previous models. There is some conflicting sources regarding the operating systems for the new netbook.
One source said that it’ll come with Windows 7 Home Premium, which would be quite a selling point considering that most netbooks come with Starter Edition – but this seems a bit dubious. Other than those changes, the Eee PC 1005PE-H will keep all the specs of the earlier model.
Buyers of the new ASUS Eee PC 1005PE-H will pay a small premium over the existing model. The current 1005PE reportedly sells with an MSRP of €299 ($404) in Europe while the new 1005PE-H will reportedly have a slightly higher MSPR of €349 ($472). The ASUS Eee PC 1005PE-H is currently on sale from European retailers.
