Vodafone UK Mocks O2 for Being the Fastest Web Browsing Operator
Long time enemies for who’s the best British carrier for the latest smartphones, Vodafone has a new reason to mock O2 as they’ve been named the fastest operator in the UK for accessing the web. While O2 won first place when it comes to music download, a series of independent tests carried out by SIRODA have revealed that actually Vodafone UK was head and shoulders above competition for mobile data connection speeds in the most locations around Britain.

“This week’s independent study by O2 is a welcome endorsement of Vodafone having the best network in the UK,” said Guy Laurence, CEO of Vodafone. “We’re seeing continued high demand for our range of smartphones, including the iPhone, driven by customers enjoying a great experience from our outstanding network.”
So are we on the verge of seeing see a Verizon x AT&T kind of war carried to the UK, with a fierce media battle between Vodafone and O2 — as the above statement is only going to enrage O2.
O2 has been upgrading their network ever since they got the iPhone exclusivity in 2007, with £30 million only invested in London, where they’re supposedly the best iPhone carrier.
