Sigma SD15 DSLR Detailed, Heading Toward Debut
More than a year after it was first teased, the Sigma SD15 DSLR has been fully spec’d, given all the details save for a release date and a price. The Sigma SD15 digital camera continues on the success of the Sigma SD line, using familiar sensor technology and a focus on top quality lens options and camera durability.

The Sigma SD15 DSLR was initially teased at the 2008 Photokina trade show, introduced as the successor to the SD14. The Sigma SD15 will feature a 14 MP Foveon X3 sensor, a 3-inch LCD display and ISO ranges between 100-1600 with an extension to 3200. It is designed for max durability, with a shutter that can handle 100,000 snaps, a sizable upgrade over most digital cameras. For those whose work requires a “quantity for quality” style of photography, the Sigma SD15 can shoot in raw at 3fps– but thanks to a large buffer size, this unit can do so for seven full seconds or 21 shots.
Pricing and availability information weren’t involved in the latest Sigma SD15 press release. Since it has been over a full year after its initial revelation, we’re hoping that Sigma is planning on “sooner” rather that continuing to opt for “later”.
