The new SanDisk solid state drives come in 60GB and 120GB flavours and thanks to offering file access speeds twice that of standard HDDs are naturally being touted as the ideal SSD upgrades for ‘do-it-yourself enthusiasts, IT managers or anyone seeking increased durability and performance with high reliability’.

The new SanDisk G3 SSDs, which specifically offer purported sequential read/write speeds of up to 220MB/s and 120MB/s respectively, as well as coming with a ‘smart flash management system’ known as ExtremeFFSTM technology – which is billed as offering the potential to accelerate random write performance as well as extend the drive’s performance – also offers full Windows 7 TRIM support (which also serves to enhance performance and maintain performance over the lifespan of the drive) whilst if you’re looking to use these with Mac systems you’ll be reassured to find that the G3 SSDs also support Apple Mac OS X Snow Leopard (as well as additionally offering Linux and Windows XP support).
