Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds Camera Now In Stores

Olympus' Compact DSLR Now Shipping For $600

After an initial revealing three weeks ago, Olympus has begun shipping their latest in the Micro Four Thirds category, weeks ahead of schedule.  The Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds Camera packs standard Olympus DSLR power into a compact, lens-swappable unit, available now on the market for $599.99.

The Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds Camera includes the same image sensor of the Olympus E-30 and E-620 cameras, delivering a familiar 12.3 MP.  The kit will include a 14-42mm f/3.5-5.6 digital zoom lens, with other interchangeable lens options available for more specific photographic demands.  On the rear side of the Olympus PEN E-PL1 is a 2.7-inch HyperCrystal LCD with Live View function.  As is standard in most recent DSLR releases, this micro four thirds camera will shoot full HD video.

While the Olympus PEN E-PL1 Micro Four Thirds Camera originally carried a wait time until later in March, Olympus has jumped the gun and begun moving their new compact camera now.  It’s available on Amazon in blue and gold, both including the aforementioned lens kit.
