New Sigma HSM Lenses Get Official

Sigma Hit Out With New 50-500mm & 70-200mm Stabilised Lenses - Canon, Nikon, Sony, Sigma and Pentax Fits

this year’s PMA event but of particular interest to me is their unveiling of their new 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM and 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM lenses – both of which sport Sigma’s optical stabilisation technology (which, in the case of the former, is sure to get the pulses racing of those looking to shoot distant wildlife as well as events such as airshows).

New Sigma 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM & 70-200mm F2.8 EX DG OS HSM lenses

The new Sigma APO 50-500mm F4.5-6.3 DG OS HSM ultra telephoto zoom lens, which comes, as mentioned above, complete with Sigma’s optical stabilisation (offering a purported four stops benefit) – something warmly welcomed on a lens offering this kind of reach – consists of four SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass elements serving to reduce lens flare and ghosting across its entire focal range and utilises Sigma’s Hyper Sonic Motor to allow for high speed, quiet focusing.
