SanDisk Shipping 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC Memory Card
SanDisk have confirmed that their new 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC memory card – officially the largest capacity SD memory card yet to be offered by the company – has commenced shipping.

The new 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC memory card, which puts in a read performance of 15MB/sec and which offers a Class 4 speed rating, is aimed specifically for use with Full HD video files and, to that end, is billed at being capable of storing up to eight hours of 1080p video footage based on a recording speed of 9Mbps.
“SDXC is the successor to the popular SDHC card format,” said Susan Park, director, retail product marketing, SanDisk. “The 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC card delivers the speed and capacity consumers need for extended HD video recording and improved rapid shooting of still images. The card is an ideal complement for recently-announced SDXC-compatible cameras and camcorders.”
Of course, the card, in being of the SD 3.0 standard, isn’t supported by a great many devices right now but there’s no doubt that the SDXC standard is set to be adopted as widely as previous standards – Canon, by way of one example, have confirmed that all their new VIXA camcorders and PowerShot cameras will offer SDXC support forthwith – so SanDisk are being pretty savvy in getting their 64GB SDXC card out there on the selves now.
The new 64GB SanDisk Ultra SDXC memory card is available form SanDisk’s online portal as of now and will set you back just shy of $350.
