Lenovo Debuts New ThinkPad X201 Ultraportable Models

12" ThinkPad X201, X201S & X201T Rolled Out With Core i7 & i5 CPUs

Lenovo loves playing with their ThinkPad X-series lineup. If yesterday they went live with the X100e as a netbook variant, today we found out that the ThinkPad X201 ultraportable will be rolled out with dual-core 2.66GHz Core i7 processors (and 2.4GHz and 2.53GHz Core i5 chips), while the slimmer and more stylish X201s and the X201t convertible tablet are now available with more sluggish 2GHz and 2.13GHz Core i7 parts.

From what we’re being told the new ThinkPad X201 has quite a few design change — although we can’t see many changes on the outside.

Regarding what’s under the hood, all ThinkPad X201 models come with a 1,280×800 screen, but if you choose the X201s you can go for a 1440×900 screen, while the X201T could bring a multi-touch display to the table. Other specs include up to 8GB of RAM, up to 500GB of storage space on a hard drive or a 128GB SSD, integrated HD graphics from Intel, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, optional WiMAX and 3G.

Lenovo ThinkPad X201 weighs in at 3.5 pounds and costs $1,199. The X201s is less heavier at only 2.5 pounds with a 4-cell battery (and only 3.1 pounds with an impressive 9-cell unit) costing a good $1,599, while the ThinkPad X201T which weighs in at 3.6 pounds with a 4-cell pack will make you shell out some $1,549.
