Kingston Selling 24GB Memory Kits
If your computer is lacking free memory, then Kingston’s got the thing for you. The memory manufacturer is now selling 24GB kits of DDR3 RAM for desktop computers. As you can imagine, they’re not cheap, but Kingston has also included a few extras to keep you satisfied with your expensive purchase.

The kit is 3 sticks of 8GB RAM, for a total of 24GB DDR2. It’s ECC RAM, which adds a bit to the price. It’s optimized to work with an Intel Core i7 processor and Intel’s X58 chipset. Kingston also has another kit that is optimized to run with the Core i5 processors.
The speed of the memory is 1600MHz, with CL9-9-9-27 at 1.65v. The RAM also includes thermal sensors so you can monitor the heat of your RAM with comfort, and they also promise ‘gold’ plating on the connectors.
As for the price, it’s a bit steep, with the whole kit costing £1,178 ($1,816) which includes the British VAT tax. You could build a decent desktop for that price – but expect to see this RAM in dedicated workstations and other enterprise applications.
Of course, the great irony is that Kingston is selling the RAM as apart of their “Value RAM” line. At any rate, this RAM is now being sold in the kit from your favorite online vendors and is now shipping. Expect Kingston and other flash manufacturers to unveil more memory products at the upcoming German CeBIT conference.
