Fujifilm Adds Five New Point-And-Shoot Cameras
The folks at Fujifilm recently revealed a ton of upcoming new compact cameras that really hit a wide variety of niches and price points. While all the offerings are decent, the Fujifilm AV100 is really a decent camera for a low price, with Fujifilm staking it at $100.

The AV100 is the fist camera. It’s on the low-end of their new offerings with a 12-megapixel sensor and a 3x optical zoom. It’s capable of recording 720p video, as as aforementioned, Fujifilm is only asking $100 for it. A decent price for this camera. The next up is the AX200, the only difference from the AV100 is that it’s slightly more expensive at $110 and they’ve included a wide-angle lens and 5x optical zoom.
Next is the Fujifilm F700EXR, which also comes with a 12-megapixel sensor but also is packing a 3.5-inch touchscreen on the back. The F700EXR also supports facial recognition for both humans and dogs (no joke – we’ve seen this dog facial recognition before). It’ll also let you tag faces for future uploading to Facebook. The F700EXR will cost you $280, going on sale next month.
Next is the JV500 series, which offers a 14-megapixel censor with 10x optical zoom. It can record in 720p video, and also offers the pet detection feature. Something that makes this camera stand out from the lower-end models, it’s got an all-metal construction body and offers rechargeable batteries. It will cost you $250, also going on sale next month.
Finally, to round out the new offerings is the F70. It’s a sub-compact design that comes in at only 0.7-inches thick, but offers the same 12-megapixel sensor and 3.5-inch touchscreen of the F700EXR model. It comes in pink and is marketed towards young ladies of discernible taste as it offers WiFi-based uploading to Facebook and YouTube. It will cost $150 and is now shipping.
