ViewSonic ViewBook Pro VNB131 Now Shipping [ViewSonic Ships First Ever CULV Notebook]

ViewSonic has begun shipping its first CULV notebook, initially revealed at CES 2010.  The ViewSonic ViewBook Pro VNB131 notebook features a 1.3GHz Core 2 Duo consumer ultra-low voltage processor, providing a slim, lightweight alternative to larger, bulkier laptops.

The new ViewSonic ViewBook Pro VNB131 features a 13-inch display, a 1.3GHz Intel Core 2 Duo processor, 2GB RAM,  a 320GB hard drive and a DVD burner.  Like other CULV ultra-portable laptops, the ViewBook Pro VNB131 is very slim, measuring in at one inch thick and weighing just 3.6 pounds.  ViewSonic has packaged a 3-cell battery within the unit, providing up to 12 hours of battery life, thanks to the power-sipping processor.

The ViewSonic ViewBook Pro VNB131 is not likely to be the only CULV notebook released by ViewSonic this year.  It has been suggested that ViewSonic will issue more iterations of this ViewBook, offering varying specs and sizes.  Keep an eye open for more CULV news from ViewSonic this spring.  For now, the VNB131 itself has begun shipping, available for a $949 premium online and in stores.
