Sprint & Verizon BlackBerry 9650 Release Delayed?
If you’re anxiously awaiting the release of the BlackBerry 9650 on either Sprint or Verizon then it would appear that you may have to keep your expectations in check as a purported source at RIM is quoted as confirming that both networks are holding back on the release of the BlackBerry 9650 for the time being.

According to Mobilitysite – duly credited below – their unnamed source at RIM mailed then with the following statement:
“Some Verizon stores did get the 9650. They were sent back for “updates”. Verizon won’t release the 9650 until the official OS 5.0 arrives for the Tour 9630. The Sprint 9650’s are having WiFi issues and Sprint is working that out. And at the end of the email he states: “it won’t be called the Tour 2. It’s the Bold 9650.”
Obviously we cannot act to confirm (or refute) that the above quote is kosher but we have no reason to believe that its not legit – which would indicate that not only will the BlackBerry 9650’s launch occur when expected but that the phone’s name has been revised post release.
We’ll bring you more the moment we have it.
