Nikon CoolPix P100 Superzoom Availability Confirmed

Affordable CoolPix P100 Comes Up for Pre-orders, Shipping Soon

For those searching for an affordable, yet powerful compact camera with superzoom options, look no further than the new Nikon CoolPix P100. Making a first appearance just a few months ago, the CoolPix P100 superzoom has now made it to various retailers as a “shipping soon” device that is supposedly selling for a highly affordable $400.

The new Nikon CoolPix P100 comes with five-way stabilized 26x optical zoom lens and has a 10.3 megapixel CMOS sensor with ISO 3200 sensitivity combined with Nikon’s Backlit Scene HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology, promising mind-blowing images with more detail and tone.

Another reason why the CoolPix P100 superzoom is an amazing camera to go with is the fact that it has a 3-inch 460,000-dot tilting LCD and it shoots Full HD 1080p in MOV (H.264) format at 30fps, HD 720p at 30fps, VGA at 30fps and QVGA at 30fps.

If folks from Amazon have it right, you’ll be able to spend those $400 for the new CoolPix P100 in three to five weeks.

We’re game, how about you guys?

The two highlights that amazed me were the Nikon’s focusing indicator system. It is so cool that when you shoot a bouquet of flowers the display shows you each blossom chosen by the matrix focusing system. You click the shutter with the knowledge that it is choosing what you want. Nikon P100 is really wonderful. The second highlight is the range of the optics from good macro, nice wide angle, and amazing telephoto.
