Entourage Edge Delayed
Earlier this month we covered the Entourage Edge, a dual-screen eReader that had a focus on academic books and texts. One of the device’s dual screens is a color LCD touchscreen, which will be useful for people perusing college textbooks. Reports have come out that the eReader is being delayed one month, and having the price increased.

When the Entourage Edge was shown off at CES early this year, they promised a February release date and a $490 price tag. Now, the ship date for “new orders” has been pushed back to March (although Entourage says that orders already placed are shipping this month). Also, the price of the device has risen $9 to $499. According to Entourage, that is due to the Documents To Go software – a great mobile office suite.
To refresh you on the Entrourage Edge, it will have a 9.7-inch E Ink monochrome touchscreen on one side, and a 10.1-inch LCD touchscreen on the other side. The screens will be able to rotate around, which sounds like what we’ve seen on convertible tablet notebooks.
For an input device, you can either choose to use a stylus on the E Ink display, or use the LCD touchscreen as… well a touchscreen, or bring up a virtual keyboard. The device will have 4GB of storage, or roughly 3000 textbooks. It’ll read ePub and PDF file formats, as well as play a number of audio and video files.
As said above, they’re now accepting preorders for $499 with a ship date in March.
