MSI to Debut GX640 & GX740 3D Gaming Notebooks [Lightweight MSI GX-series 3D Laptops to Pack Core i5 CPUs, Bring Full DirectX11 Support]

Just days after updating their C-series lineup, the folks from MSI are at it again, this time with a couple of 3D-ready notebook models, the new MSI GX640 and MSI GX740. Weighing 3.2kilos and being only 2.8mm thick, the stylish machines are quite powerful. They promise to deliver exceptional 3D gamin graphics thanks to the Intel Core i5 dual processors and the ATi Mobility Radeon 3D discrete graphics card that are packed under the hood.

Part of the company’s GX-series, the 15.6-inch MSI GX640 and the GX740 run on Window 7 Home Premium, have Core i5 processors (a good guess is the 2.26GHz version) under the hood, and either the ATi Mobility Radeon HD5870 or the HD5850 3D cards with full DirectX11 support and GDDR5 memory. On top of that, both models are fitted with 4GB of RAM, up to 640GB of storage space, a Blu-ray drive and a card reader along with SRS 7.1 Channel audio output.

For those who’re not into 3D gaming, the GX-series features the company’s Cinema Pro technology that allows you to use five power management levels (Game, Movie, Presentation, Word Processing, and Turbo Battery) to save on energy and an interesting HD movie mode.

The new MSI GX640 and the MSI GX740 will debut next Month and should cost £999, or some $1,560 at today’s rate.

      Quite sorry, but that’s what happens when you look in more places than one.
