Opera Mini iPhone Browser is Really Fast
Last week Opera announced that they’re going to unveil a special Mini browser for the iPhone 3GS at the 2010 MWC in Barcelona. They did today and the result is quite impressive as we’re hearing it beats the native iPhone browser on every aspect, as it uses the company’s proxy and compression services to render web pages.

At the Opera booth, the new iPhone Opera Mini browser proved that it can be up to 5 times faster than the stock Safari version, and although that’s extremely good to brag with, there are other goodies packed to make it a great deal. First things that come to mind are the double-tap zoom support (no sign of pinch-to-zoom functionality though) and the fact that it’s smart enough to remember the state of the browser when you exit, with tabs and pages staying where the should.
Also, word is that the Opera Mini browser is quite responsive as soon as the content starts loading up.
But why would Opera go overboard with a product before it has even submitted to Apple for approval? How about using the iPhone as a marketing tool for their new product — given the fact that it works so neat?
The Opera Mini iPhone browser will be submitted to the App Store in a week or two.
