O2 UK to Debut the HTC Smart & HTC Desire [HTC's Android-powered Desire & Brew-powered Smart Availabile in the UK on O2]
HTC is a phone manufacturer definitely worth checking these days. The company has listened to their customers and the latest smartphones that they’ve announced have made quite a splash in the market. Speaking of the freshly introduced devices, we just caught wind that after T-Mobile UK and Vodafone picked them up, O2 UK are now stepping in officially announcing that they’ll be carrying the HTC Smart and the HTC Desire to their British customers.

If you remember, the HTC Smart is and affordable Sense touting smartphone that HTC has built for the budget user. It runs on Qualcomm’s Brew platform has 2100MHz HSDPA/WCDMA/Quadband and GSM/EDGE support, a sluggish 300MHz processor, 256MB of RAM and 256MB of ROM, along with a 2.8-inch QVGA TFT LCD touchscreen, a 3 megapixel camera focus and LED flash.
As for the HTC Desire if you’ve been following our coverage of the 2010 MWC in Barcelona you already know it’s quite powerful. It runs on Android 2.1, has a 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon CPU, a 3.7-inch AMOLED touch-sensitive display (480 X 800 WVGA pixels) and Flash 10.1 support among other things.
If there’s no release date for the HTC Smart, expect the HTC Desire on O2 UK sometime around April.
