New MacBook Pro or iPads Coming to Best Buy Store Soon? [Placeholder SKU in Best Buy Inventory Database Suggest MacBook Pro Refresh or iPad Arrival]
Believe it or not there are other things happening in the tech world besides the MWC 2010. And some of these things are very interesting especially since we’re talking about MacBook Pros and iPads. Just a short while ago we told you how Best Buy has deleted the current MacBook Pro models from the inventory but the MacBook refresh that’s supposed to bring us Intel Core i5 and i7 processors has not arrived yet.

Today we have further evidence that would suggest a MacBook Pro refresh. It looks like Best Buy’s internal inventory database contains three new Apple products in the “Mobile Computing” category. Are these the new MacBook Pros?
Apple’s MacBook Pro line is due a refresh particularly considering that all the competitors are already offering those hot new Intel processors. How long will Apple wait before announcing new MacBook Pros? Last time Apple’s online store was down we suspected the new machines were getting ready to be made public but all Cupertino did was to announce its new Aperture 3 software and prepare the store for Valentine’s Day.

If the updated MacBook Pros aren’t arriving yet, the other plausible explanation for the unidentified additions to Best Buy’s inventory is the iPad. Maybe the giant electronics retailer is getting ready for the iPad arrival. The first iPad version to be sold will be the Wi-Fi model which should hit stores by the end of March. And the Wi-Fi iPad series is comprised of three models, 16GB, 32GB and 64GB of storage space. Maybe that’s what Best Buy’s inventory suggests, although I’m sure that neither Best Buy nor Apple will care to confirm anything for now.
So folks, in case you have any information as to what these “Dummy SKU” in the inventory there stand for, then, by all means, share it with us.
