The U.S. upgraded version of the HTC HD2 is coming in March but that’s not the only thing T-Mobile had to announce today at MWC 2010. The company is also counting on the HTC HD2 to “bring a never-before-seen mobile experience to entertainment fans across the U.S.” The carrier has signed deals with some important content providers like Barnes & Noble, Blockbuster, MobiTV and Paramount Pictures which are going to bring their titles to HTC HD2 users.

If you ask me, that’s a pretty slick idea but will it be truly successful if offered only to future HTC HD2 customers? George Harrison, vice president, marketing product innovation, T-Mobile USA has the answer:

T-Mobile is committed to offering innovative solutions to connect, inspire and entertain our customers through the power of mobile technology. By combining leading innovation in the world of entertainment with the large screen and processing power of the HTC HD2, we’ve created a unique and powerful mobile entertainment experience.

Apparently you need a large screen and a lot of processing power to handle mobile content. That’s not entirely so, is it T-Mobile?

The Barnes & Noble eReader application will offer you more than a million eBooks, newspapers, magazines and books. Blockbuster on Demand, MobiTV and Paramount Pictures will bring you lots of videos, TV shows and movies. All you need to have is a new HTC HD2 from T-Mobile USA. What’s more exciting is that “Transformers” and “Transformers : Revenge of the Fallen” will be both preloaded on the HD2 so you can watch them again while you’re traveling.

And just in case you fly around the country a lot then Gogo Inflight Internet service will offer you up to six months of free in-flight Wi-Fi. Again, all you need is a fresh HTC HD2 handset purchased from T-Mo USA.

T-Mobile also has something for those of you that don’t want an HTC HD2. The carrier will launch the webConnect Rocket, it’s first 21Mbps HSPA+ USB modem next month but the device will only work at full speed in Philadelphia for now. Other markets will get HSPA+ support later this year so lots of customers will have to wait to enjoy 21Mbps blazing fast transfer speeds.
