Samsung S8500 Wave Pictures, Specs & Features Get Leaked [Samsung Wave bada Phone Unveiled Ahead of MWC 2010]

Just yesterday we’ve seen the first bada phone, the Samsung Wave, spotted on a banner in Spain and today we already have some leaked pictures, specs and features of the first bada OS-powered phone. And from the looks of it, it looks like Samsung might just have something here.

The Wave, also known as the Samsung 8500 is going to come with some very interesting specs and features. While nothing has been confirmed so far, we’re pretty inclined to believe these features:

  • 3.3-inch AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display
  • 5-megapixel camera with autofocus and flash
  • 720p video recording
  • DivX support
  • 2GB internal memory
  • microSD support
  • HSDPA connectivity
  • Wi-Fi
  • Bluetooth 3.0
  • 1 GHz processor
  • 3.5mm headphone jack
  • Aluminum body
  • 1500 mAh battery
  • bada OS
  • TouchWiz 3.0

Is it just me or does this phone is a lot more interesting than we could have anticipated? The hardware suggests that we’re looking at a true smartphone and not a featurephone. In fact the specs surely meet the needs of Microsoft’s upcoming Windows Mobile 7 which means they should offer us a more than pleasant smartphone experience.

The only thing we can’t show you at this time is bada OS. We don’t have any details about this new mobile platform and we don’t know what to expect from it. We’re definitely excited to see that the Samsung 8500 Wave will come with a 1GHz processor on board and some very slick capabilities like 720p video recording and the new Bluetooth standard, version 3.0. But that’s not enough to make the Wave a hit phone.

On a different note Android and more importantly Windows Mobile 7 might have reasons for being afraid. As I said earlier here on TFTS, Samsung will surely increase bada phones production once customers start getting used to a new, successful OS. And Samsung will surely slow down Windows Mobile and Android production if not ditch them all together in case bada takes off.

Anyone interested in the Samsung 8500 Wave?
