Samsung Wave bada Phone Unveiled Ahead of MWC?
I’m as excited as the other guy when it comes to a new mobile OS. But with the high standards and expectations customers currently have I’ve learned not to get over excited about new mobile platforms. webOS was supposed to rock our world but it didn’t really do that. Now we have a Samsung original OS to look at, bada, and we’re told that the first phone running it is coming at MWC.

Samsung simply has to unveil the new OS in Spain next week in order to lure potential customers in. The first bada phone should be available as soon as possible. That way the company can take advantage of two important factors. First of all there’s plenty of time until Apple unveils the iPhone 4G and iPhone OS 4.0 and Samsung can use that time to pitch bada phones to its future customers. Furthermore Windows Mobile 7 phones are only expected to hit stores this fall which means that Samsung has even more time to improve bada and sell even more smartphones running its own operating system.
And it looks like we have the first official shots of the first handset to run bada. The phone in question is the Samsung Wave which has been already spotted on a banner in Spain. As you can clearly see the banner reads “Samsung Wave with Samsung’s new mobile platform bada.”
We don’t have any official features right now but the phone on the banner seems to have a generous full touchscreen display, a camera with LED flash on the back, and obviously, bada OS running smoothly inside.
So what do you say folks? Do you think Samsung has what it takes to offer us a great, affordable, new smartphone platform? Or are we simply witnessing the birth of a new kind of featurephones running bada OS? We’ll have all the bada-related hot details next week as MWC gets underway, so stay tuned for more!
