$10,000 iTunes Gift Card to be Given Away by Apple

Apple’s iTunes is quite a popular music store, but I figure you already knew that. What you don’t know is that Apple has a special surprise for a lucky person. The person that buys the 10 billionth song on iTunes or is the first to complete a special online form will get a once in a lifetime $10,000 iTunes Gift Card from Apple.

Apple is approaching the 10 billionth song download which is an impressive number. At the time I am writing these lines the countdown timer is at 9,880,757,755 (+/- 10) which means there’s plenty of time for you to enter the competition.

Here are the basic rules you need to follow in order to be eligible for the grand $10,000 iTunes Gift Card Prize:

• Age: 13 or older
• Country: United States or the District of Columbia, Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada (excluding the Province of Quebec), Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, or the United Kingdom
• Contest Entry: download a song from iTunes or complete the online form.
• Number of Entries: only 25 entries per person/account per day are accepted.

The contest started on February 11, 2010 and it shall go on until the 10 billion mark has been reached.

This is not Apple’s first barbeque when it comes to holding special iTunes-related promotions. The company held an even more impressive contest when the App Store reached 1 billion downloads and we expect Apple to come up with similar solutions in the near future.

Now I don’t know about you but a $10k gift card sounds pretty interesting and I imagine lots of people will enter the competition.
