Lenovo G455 & Lenovo G555 Notebooks Announced [New Lenovo G-Series Notebooks Boast Turion II Dual Core CPUs, HD Graphics, 16:9 Widescreen Displays]
Lenovo have officially announced two new notebooks in its G-Series – the Lenovo G455 and the Lenovo G555 – both of which sport 16:9 widescreen HD displays and both of which, optionally, take in up to a AMD Turion II Dual-Core processor as well as ATI Radeon HD integrated GPUs.

Lenovo are yet to offer full spec sheets concerning either the G455 or G555 notebooks, in fact, in terms of press releases, Lenovo’s release is pretty lame in terms of detail, but they have, at least, confirmed that both, unsurprisingly, will run with Windows 7 whilst offering full support of Aero Peek and Aero Flip Win 7 features thanks to sporting full DirectX 10 compatibility whilst, in terms of battery endurance, both should put in reasonable figures thanks to Lenovo’s Energy Management 5.0 which ‘lets users select from several energy-saving modes to help decrease energy consumption and extend battery life.’ Interestingly, however, Lenovo haven’t felt the need to underpin such a statement with any actual data concerning battery life so we’re in the dark as much as you are as to just what sort of impact Lenovo’s Energy Management 5.0 feature has.
Still, Lenovo have been happy enough to confirm, that both new G-Series notebooks also feature their OneKey Rescue System, a one-touch backup, repair and recovery tool, as well as offering up VeriFace facial recognition which gives users ‘a fun and interactive way to log on to the PC’. (‘Fun’ would indicate, to me at least, that this is hardly a major security feature – how about you?).
The Lenovo G455 and Lenovo G555 notebooks are set to begin shipping in the US from March (prior to which one hopes Lenovo will see fit to offer some real detail concerning what both bring to the table) and will be priced from $450.
