Acer S5200 3D Projector Promises 120Hz Referesh Rates

Acer Stepping in the 3D War with new S5200 3D Projector

Literally minutes after learning about Acer’s powerful and expensive P7290 projector, we just caught wind that the company is gearing up to join the 3D war by announcing their new Acer S5200 3D projector. Promising a 120Hz refresh rate and short-throw capability, the new Acer S5200 is has absolutely no issues in displaying 81-inch pictures even if it stays just one meter away from the screen.

The new Acer S5200 3D projector boasts 3000 ANSI lumens with a 2500:1 contrast ratio, has a native XGA resolution of 1024 x 768 (4:3 ratio) pixels and can be compressed to UXGA 1600 x 1200 resolution or WSXGA+ 1680 x 1050 pixels, but it’s obvious, you’ll have to live with the blurry stuff.

It also boasts Picture-in-Picture tech, has an 8x digital zoom should you needed it, two internal speakers that output 3 watts, and the same Philips 350 W user replaceable P-VIP lamp as the P7290, that promises a 2000 hours lifetime when used in standard mode or 3000 hours when in ECO mode.

Just like the P7290, the new Acer S5200 3D projector is DLP compatible, it comes with ColorBoost II technology that features an optimized 6-segment colour wheel design that delivers vivid graphics and enhanced details, has HDMI, D-Sub output and an RS-232 serial port.

Now all you need to do is grab a graphics card capable to send 3D signal and a pair of 3D glasses, because the Acer S5200 3D projector is already selling for some $1,000.
